The Old Guys at the Waterfront ...

And then we sat and listened to jazz at the waterfront ... these guys were excellent!

View of the mainland ...

Robben Island

The prison on Robben Island. Home to many of the political prisoners during apartheid.

Inside the prison at Robben Island.

The lime stone quarry where the prisoners worked moving limestone from one end of the quarry to the other.

"The library" where the political prisoners used to meet.

The pile of rocks which lies at the side of the limb quarry symbolizes the new South Africa. In 1995 over a thousand ex-political prisoners had a reunion on Robben Island and each added a rock to the pile, started by Nelson Mandela.

Signs at the Penguins

These don't need much explanation ...

Penguins

The penguins at Boulder's beach were on good form ...

Kalk Bay

Sara came to visit in August. And we went to find some penguins ... and stopped at Kalk Bay for lunch.

Sunset at Camp's Bay

Beading in a Pub ...

We all bought beads at the Bead Boys and we made necklaces and bracelets in a pub in Obs ... some of us less creative than others ;-) (speaking only of myself!).

Biscuit Mill, Woodstock

I thought it was the Biscuit Factory but the Biscuit Mill turned out to be a market type affair in Woodstock, Cape Town. We had a great time!

Marelise and I had biscuits (in the form of ginger bread men).
