Hiking ...

We eventually found somewhere to hike! The first picture is the national flower of South Africa - Protea.

And no hike would be complete without a large container in the middle of the scenic area! Not sure if you can make out what's written on there ...

Over the mountains past the Franschhoek Valley we came to this beautiful area ...

Franschhoek Valley

Over one set of mountains is the Franschhoek Valley. When attempting to hike in Stellenbosch didn't quite work out (how do you get to the mountains anyway?) we went for a drive through the mountains and through the Franschhoek Valley ...

Strand

Strand is the nearest beach to us here in Stellenbosch.

Coastal Road

It's a beautiful drive along the coast past the beaches. These are taken between Gordon's Bay and Koel Bay. Near where these pictures were taken there was a baboon got into someones car and started going through their stuff ... not when we were there though!

Further along from Gordon's Bay is Koel Bay (Koelbaai) where the boys like to surf ...

Gordon's Bay (Gordonsbaai)

The nearest beach to us here in Stellenbosch is Strand. Further along the coast is Gordon's Bay (Gordonsbaai) which is lovely. Shame I left my camera on "black & white" mode, though the pictures are not too bad! A couple of weeks ago we had a Wednesday off for "Human Rights Day" and I came along the coast to see some of the beaches with Charis.

A few mornings ago ...

This was my view as I opened my front door! Makes it worthwhile to be leaving the house so early when there's mornings like this to greet me!

And my curly hair. Not sure whether it's curly or straight these days, mostly it just sticks out! Baie goed!

Judith's Birthday in Cape Town

Managed to arrive in Cape Town just intime to see another spectacular sunset! Had dinner with some Swiss friends pictured. Managed to get the print "Saturday Opium" off my arm before church the next morning! Happy Birthday Judith!
