So back in the day there used to be huge highways (I-93) which ran over Boston. The big dig was an amazing feat undertaken to put the major arteries underground. It seemed to be quite a dodgy affair and took many, many years longer than planned. For all of my time in Boston it looked like a large construction site. However, there are now gardens and trees where the highway used to be. It's actually quite attractive!
