After watching multitudes of 1930s black-and-white movies in Canada I am now an expert on prohibition!! Back in the day, the Minetta Tavern was a "speakeasy" and kept looking "closed" so that it wouldn't run into problems! The closed look was a little too real though as we discovered it really has closed!!
