My friend Claire came to visit from Glasgow ... and her Afrikaans Granny had asked her to get some leaves from a silver tree ... so began the epic adventure of finding silver trees ... it began in Stellenbosch - asking any person who'd lived in Stellenbosch more than 2 weeks where I could find the silver trees - and ended with us both at Kirstenbosch Gardens (in Cape Town) getting some leaves for Claire to take back to Scotland ...
... it was a beautiful journey!! The silver trees were, of course, at the top end of the gardens ...

and it was quite obvious when we found them ... their leaves shine silver in the sun!

... we were happy to get to the end of our quest unscathed, and quietly happy to have found silver leaves for Claire's Granny :-)

I will just ignore the fact that tourists come and steal plants from our hard protected natural monuments... :-)
